Bandung, November 2011 [part 2]

pine trees

wokeyh. setelah penat membeli-belah, moh pergi sight seeing. so normally a trip to places outside of bandar bandung would probably cost you an extra 50000-100000rp (car rental). but lucky think encik supir/tour guide didn't charge us extra. foooh.

we went to tangkuban perahu. uish. tipu ler kalau tak exited. first time tu pergi volcano. if i'm not mistaken it took us roughly 1 1/2 hours to reach tangkuban perahu.. kitorang lalu jalan kampung ke jalan belakang ke apa entah. so the view masa nak pergi tu lawa lah. tapi umang ai pot holes bukan main banyak ye. poning den.

nak ke sini kena awal pagi. dalam 730am or palaing tak pun pukul 800am.

ok, nak masuk bukan free ye. kena bayar, harap maklum. 50000rp per head + 15000rp untuk kereta. but do remember, supir free. kalau dia mintak duit tu korang kena kelentong ler tu dengan supir tu. bunyi macam mahal kan, tapi berbaloi lah datang sini. kat ceruk mana lak hang nak cari volcano at malaysia kan? 

kawah ratu

from subang jaya to subang java. hahahaha<small>ok lame erma lame!</small>

ok, so anyhoo. sampai je kat sini, akan nampak kawah ratu. pretty massive. there are a few craters at tangkuban perahu. but only some are accessible to the public. for the ones that are not, they still emit poisonous gases. 

besides kawah ratu, you can go and explore kawah domas. TAPI kan, kena bayar extra tau. and turun tu tour guide kena guide. 250000rp per hour (kalau lebih dari 5 orang, fee dia 300000rp). so at first you pay kat office 250000. if you manage to finish the track within an hour, the tour guide will on give 125000rp back to you. but kalau lebih masa kena bayar lagi.

after dah bayar and nak start jalan tu kan, ramaaaaaaaaaaaaaaai sungguh orang ikut. eh pelik lah jugak sebab mula tu orang kat office tu cakap tour guide sorang je. asal lak ramai kan. rupanya diorang ni orang jual souvenir. sangat ramai ok. maybe around 10? i think more.

jalan punya jalan. asal ler tak sampai sampai. i rarely exercise jadi penat. tapi kesian my mom, nak pergi kawah domas ni banyak steps dia. slippery lak tu. kat office cakap dekat, rupanya 2km. pity my mother, her knees sakit.

ok, nak bagi warning ni. serious kena baca kalau ada plan nak pergi kawah domas. since kita bayar tour guide on an hourly basis, they'll definitely try to delay you. offer ambil gambar lah. suruh rehat. jalan sikit rehat. jalan sikit je lagi rehat. so, snap a few pictures jalan. snap je laju-laju.

diorang akan jual souvenir dengan harga melampau yang amat. bayangkan, they tried to sell a fridge magnet to me for 500000rp. that's roughly rm180. gila kan? pergi universal studios singapore beli magnet dia pun tak sampai rm20. at first i didn't want to buy. tapi muka orang tu like super mad, like because of me dia terpaksa bersusah payah hike, then help me etc. eh hello, ada aku suruh kau ikut? tak ada kan memandangkan on the way balik jalan was slippery and i was paranoid dia akan tolak masuk gaung. ok so my imaginations tend to be overboard. i know. so beli ler sebab terpaksa. paid him 100000rp. huuu melayang rm36 aku.

so, if ada plan nak turun, kasi tahu orang office and tour guide awal-awal, 'TAK NAK ORANG JUAL SOUVENIRS IKUT' i think boleh, sebab on the way turun nampak a group of people dengan tour guide sahaja.

but, kalau diorang ikut jugak and paksa beli, bargain ok. lepas tu bila nak sampai pintu keluar baru beli. sebab diorang dah desperate, they just take whatever you give them. gah, sakit hati bila ingat balik. but lucky thing view nak pergi lawa and kawah domas is different from kawah ratu.

ada kolam air panas kat sini. you can actually boil eggs here. different kolam different temperature.

setelah penat dan pilu (pilu habis duit banyak kat kawah domas), we headed to kampung daun. ok, kampung daun ni bukan kampung tau. it's actually a restaurant. very pretty and cosy place. the food wasn't spectacular, but this place is definitely a must visit!

gah. comelkan teapot dia? imma sucker for adorable things. ok, so the ginger tea would taste better if they had put less honey in it. and honeslty, avocado juice... sedap tapi cannot lawan ole-ole bali

nasi liwet parahyangan. so basically ada dua jenis nasi liwet. kalau nak try, try yang ini. untuk 2 orang makan

after balik tu round bandar lagi sekali. tapi memandangkan penat, terus pergi urut kat ZEN. murah seyh urut kat sini. mom and i ambil urut dua jam + lulur and it cost us ~300000rp. murah murah murah. kalau tempat macam ni kat subang jaya, rasanya mahu gak >rm150.

keesokan harinya... pergi lagi pasar baru. teehee. mommy dearest wanted to buy more telekung. and macam biasa, shopaholic mana boleh tak beli apa-apa. so bought telekung lagi sekali. aigoo ya.

warna-warni. tapi idok ler beli. mencapub sanga kalau gi masjid pakai ni. kesian orang belakang can't concentrate

kain kebaya (belum siap) ok gak. murah. tapi mengenangkan tailor kat rumah tu charge dia 3 kali harga kain ni, tak jadi ler nak beli

drinks sold here are quite expensive. eh wait kenapa rasa macam deja vu tulis ni. did i talk about this in the previous post. adoyai. lupa. getting oldddd

so anyhoo, second but last day spent sini cuma pusing FO lagi sekali, pergi pasar baru, makan-makan and pergi paris van java. oowwh owwh. lupa lak. and beli noms untuk bawak balik sini.

rasanya most people yang nak pergi bandung ada dengar pasal kartika sari. so yeah, kalau pergi kartika sari beli pisang bollen and cheese stick. for brownies kukus, amanda is better. yang famous brownies kukus original dengan brownies kukus with cheese on top. yang cheeses tu will cost you more. word of advice, kalau plan nak beli banyak, minta kotak dari orang kedai. kalau tak lenyek ler kek tu kang.

haaa. dah syiok bershopping, jangan lupa to set aside cash untuk bayar airport tax. 75000rp per person.

foooh. super long post. untuk orang yang akan/terasa nak pergi bandung, do take note of these things

• cash. places like pasar baru, makan places err stalls so not except credit card. lepas tu nak bayar car rental pun cash. owh, and tempat urut pun cash. 
• bargain. beli souvenir tepi jalan ke, pergi pasar ke, bargain. tapi FO jangan ler bargain. harga tetap
• car rental. normally bayar at the end day. lepas tu diorang normally expect tip. normally orang kasi 20000-50000rp. lepas tu, lain company lain T&C dia. ada yang harga tak termasuk petrol and duit parking tau. so tanya awal-awal. this company,  ok gak. request for Auzy. pretty reliable fellow.
• taxi. yang reliable, company blue bird
• FO. ok, most places policy dia tak boleh tukar balik pakaian. jadi check baik-baik kalau ada defect
• kalau book hotel via airasia go, remember to print the confirmation slip untuk hotel. slip ni dengan tiket kapal terbang lain-lain
• research. before pergi, cari lah jugak places that you want to go. supir boleh suggest, tapi they won't know what you're looking for.

lastly, bagi mereka yang masih muda. besides FO, try check out the local distro. pretty cool stuff they sell. and ada two shoe stores, SPORTMAX & SHOE CLUB, they sell sample shoes. macam nike adidas vans etc. but, satu design, satu kasut sahaja. jadi ikut nasib ler.

Bandung, November 2011 [part 1]

i was really exited this trip.it has been FOREVER since my last overseas trip ^^, <small>err, ok so singapore tu belakang kira. selalu noh gi lawat saudara</small>

anyhoo, lagi sebab riang ria gembira sebab ni first time pergi makan angin jauh-jauh (eyp, naik kapal terbang kira jauh ler tu ok) guna duit sendiri. huahuahua. terasa sedikit bangga, ok tipu. terasa sangat bangga seyh guna duit sendiri. walaupun lepas tu menangis berlagu-lagu tengok statement bank ㅠ.ㅜ

idok ler dalam plan pun nak pergi bandung. airasia was having a promotion, so my mom ajak. pretty cheap if you ask me. kitorang book like roughly 3 weeks before tarikh pergi. rm660 untuk ticket+4 nights stay at a 3 star hotel+luggage fee. not bad ay?

so most people suggest sewa kereta kalau nak ke bandung. average rental rate untuk kereta+supir/tour guide is around 450000rp untuk 16 jam. google sana google sini, jumpa ler company yang tengah buat promotion. 350000rp untuk 12 jam. ok lah. lama mana kau nak pusing kan? penat tau.

sampai bandung around 830pm. our supir/tour guide dah sampai kat airport. lepas check in, kitorang gi makan kejap. almaklumlah tak ambil meal dalam flight. lapar.

after breakfast, lepak sebentar

early to bed. early to rise. haha. semangat nak shopping punya pasal. encik tour guide bilang kena pergi pasar baru awal. senang nak park kereta and senang nak tawar menawar sebab all the traders nak pecah telur katanya.

ha, bargain jangan tak bargain. pergi pasar baru WAJIB ye bargain. telekung kat sini definitley cheaper than malaysia. but my mom said that the sulaman ke apa entah not as pretty as the ones made in medan.

pisang molen. when in bandung, you should definitely give this delicacy a try

factory outlets or FO. ok lah. murah, tapi tak ada lah super duper murah. some things are actually cheaper kat berjaya times square. hoh. but. and it's a big BUT, kat times square tak cater untuk orang yang bersaiz comel. nasib baik sini boleh jumpa size.

we went to secret first. lawa dalam dia. baju-baju dia lagi mahal lah compared to other FOs. tapi i think baju kat sini quality dia better. memandangkan pergi secret dulu, FO lain semua rasa macam 'meh'. cascade je kot yang not so bad.

penat shopping, haruslah mengisi perut. can't remember the name of the restaurant. all i know is, it's located right next to heritage. the food was nice and it wasn't expensive

soda susu. they used full cream milk, condensed milk and soda. the taste is somewhat similar to bandung soda

mula-mula ingatkan nak beli jeans kat cihampelas walk. tapi tour guide suggest pergi toko tiga since they sell original levi's there. ok, cakap pasal ori tak ori, tanya lah encik guide pasal benda ni. dia cakap kat FO tu bukan semua ori pun. jarang sebenarnya ori. dia cakap kalau ada pun, cari american brands yang kilang dia kat indonesia.

i think they love japanese food. banyak gak kedai makan jepun. hoh. even kat kfc pun adajual yakiniku

aiyak. penat sudah menaip. sambung lagi esok lah. daa

It's better to have something you don't need than to need something you don't have

ok, so even though i had thought about owning an olympus pen, i did not think that i'll actually buy it anytime soon. boy, was i wrong.

i think i must be a chronic shopaholic. i went to subang parade with my mom to grab something for lunch. ended up buying a camera. ye memang lah kan camera tu murah 10 20 ringgit je kan. shouldn't have asked the sales person to show me the camera. mula ingat nak tengok tengok je. then he showed yang warna merah. so pretty ~

mother was like. ha belu lah beli. kalau beli boleh bawak gi bandung next week. pakai credit card make ada easy payment, 12 months installment. dslr kat rumah biar adik pakai since dia ada subject photography pun. and the sales assistant pun 'ha merah tak bayak stock leh. promotion till the end of the month but if no stock you cannot buy. we give you free camera bag some more'

haih. tempatation sungguh kuat. haha. my sister calls me the 'severely overspent sister'. memang benar sungguh. who goes for lunch then balik beli camera. bajet gaji besar. ceh. padahal...




anyhoo, since i had bought it. i can't have any regrets.




Olympus E-PL3 or Olympus Pen Lite. a compact system camera or hybrid camera. picture qualities are better than normal compact cameras, but the functions are limited compared to a dslr. i think it's suitable for people that wants to upgrade from their normal digital camera, but afraid and clueless about using a dslr. and for the dslr owners, this camera is a good option when you're to lasy to lug around your heavy and bulky camera.

pen lite is easy to use. and i love the art filters. some of the shots taken with this camera.

very friendly. she works part-time at the camera shop. she's actually a kindergarten teacher @.@

in a totally unrelated matter:

 gah. geramnya aku dengan certain shops kat sacc mall. kan opening hours shopping complex 1000am. paling lambat nak buka kedai, dalam 11 tu ok lagi. ini dah tengahari pun tak habis setup kedai. fine. makanan tak sampai sebab semua kat rumah. but it was sunday. orang kan selalu keluar gi brunch. masuk pizza hut pukul 12 pun baru nak setting. aish. huu, dulu masa kerja kat empire, kedai mesti buka at 10. kalau lambat sure management ambil gambar bukti kedai buka lambat. siap denda lagi tu
